BIOGRAPHY

A true creative chameleon, Marie-Clo is a bilingual singer-songwriter, dancer, and actor. Known for her raw storytelling, magnetic stage presence, and genre-bending sound, she creates music that is both deeply personal and ecologically resonant. Whether performing solo or as one half of the electro-pop/folk duo Beau Nectar, Marie-Clo invites listeners into a lush, imaginative & taboo world.

Marie-Clo began her artistic journey on international stages performing in musicals before finding her true voice in songwriting and independent music, after winning the televised national reality tv show for singer-songwriters “Planète Barbare”. Her solo work merges dreamy indie pop with lyrical depth tackling themes of identity, feminism, divorce, illness, sexuality and rewilding, while conjuring vivid imagery and layered soundscapes. Her song Red Flag won her the Best song award at the Trille Or’s, brought her to #4 on Sirius Xm charts, led to her opening for an idol, Ariane Moffatt. Her English full-length album Shell(e), produced by Polaris Prize shortlisted drummer and producer Olivier Fairfield (Patrick Watson, Timber Timbre, Leif Vollebek), was a conceptual feminist narrative supported by the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts, and FACTOR which landed her two sync deals, namely, with Aero Chocolates, brought her to #2 on Sirius XM Charts, won her Album of the year at Capital Music Awards and added to numerous editorial playlists. She even got to duet her single Shell on National television with Martha Wainwright. Shell(e) received strong international media attention & affirmed Marie-Clo’s reputation as a fearless voice in Canada’s indie scene.

Seeking collaboration, Marie-Clo expanded her creative universe through her band Beau Nectar, a bilingual collaboration with artist éemi. Signed to Indica Records, the duo crafts intimate and vibrant synth-pop/folk infused with environmental and poetic imagery. Their debut album Two Lips (2023) established Beau Nectar as a rising bilingual force, followed by the singles “Apple” and “Loggerhead Shrike,” teasing their upcoming album Dandy (set for release March 7th 2026). Beau Nectar quickly gained national attention, performing three cross-country tours, including one with the prestigious Coup de cœur francophone network and opening for celebrated artists such as Daniel Bélanger, Pierre Kwenders, and Fanny Bloom. Their single “Sous l’eau” debuted at #4 on Sirius XM, while “Fleur de pot” was featured in the TV series Habitants du Nord (Unis TV).

The duo has earned widespread acclaim, winning 2 Trille Or Awards (2025) for Pop Album of the Year and Group of the Year, as well as Pop Artist of the Year at the Saskatchewan Music Awards (2025). They previously garnered 4 Trille Or Awards (2023), multiple Capital Music Award nominations (2024), Western Canadian Music Award nominations (2024), and a GAMIQ nomination (2024). They were also selected for the prestigious Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity Residency (2023) and named to CBC Music’s Searchlight Top 100.

Together and apart, Marie-Clo’s projects are united by a deep sense of purpose — to explore the wild intersections of humanity, ecology, and emotion. Her music blurs the boundaries between the earthly and the ethereal, between English and French, between the personal and the collective. Whether under her own name or through Beau Nectar, Marie-Clo continues to redefine what it means to make art that is both rooted and out there, intimate and expansive; always dancing between shadow and light.
